About TuxMail

TuxMail provides a functional, transparent, and technically clean email service built around Postfix, PostfixAdmin, Dovecot, and Roundcube.

A Unique Public PostfixAdmin Instance

TuxMail currently offers a publicly accessible PostfixAdmin instance — something rarely available in open environments.

At the moment, mailbox requests and PostfixAdmin access are offered free of charge as part of a limited public rollout.

Accounts are reviewed manually to maintain quality, prevent abuse, and ensure long-term service stability.

What PostfixAdmin Can Do

  • Create and manage email domains
  • Create mailboxes (e.g., user@tuxmail.org)
  • Set mailbox quotas
  • Manage aliases and forwarders
  • Enable or disable accounts
  • Maintain administrative separation between domains

PostfixAdmin acts as the management layer on top of the mail server stack. It provides a structured interface for domain and mailbox control without requiring shell access.

What Roundcube Provides

  • Modern browser-based webmail interface
  • Full IMAP folder support
  • HTML and plain-text email composition
  • Identity management
  • Address book support
  • Attachment handling

Roundcube runs at /mail and allows users to access their mailbox securely over HTTPS without requiring a desktop mail client.

Technical Stack

  • Postfix (SMTP handling)
  • Dovecot (IMAP/POP3 + authentication)
  • PostfixAdmin (management layer)
  • Roundcube (webmail interface)
  • Apache + PHP 8.x
  • MariaDB backend

Service Philosophy

  • Clean server architecture
  • Manual abuse prevention
  • Transparent structure
  • Minimal external dependencies
